With economics dictating that fruit be imported from abroad. Many English Orchards have closed down or needed to diversify in order to stay viable. When we acquired the site back in May 1995 our goal was to keep all the things which gave this site its charm while turning the business around. To do this we spent nearly three years getting planning permission and refurbishing the existing buildings to make it not only a working farm but an attractive place that both locals and tourists to Cambridge would want to visit. Apples are used for juice, pressed and bottled on-site, grapes from the vineyard produce a delightful (award winning!) English table wine.
The main buildings have been completely refurbished as a garden centre run by experts from Polhill Garden Centre. Within the centre you will also find a Farm Shop, Post Office, Gift Shop & Coffee Shop.
